Venues can make a lot for the progress of an artist's music career, in a world where it is easy to upload your music for the world to listen to, it has actually becoming harder to get a lot of new people to listen to your music, simply due to how deeply saturated releasing music online is.

In other words, it seems like the artist is dropping their song into a vast ocean of many other songs.

This is when live music and the use of venues are important. Other parties, such as the venue themselves and music promoters, can promote and entice people to join live music events, giving the artist more a chance of having their music be exposed to a new crowd.

When having to talk to Philip, I learned how a good live gig would need to have at least 300 to 1000 listeners, in which music venue and promoter aim to have to make a profit. So it is interesting to see, if an artist were to debut in a live event, maybe with other artists, immediately the artist has 300 - 1000 people hearing for the first time.

Bars that host a specific type of live music is the best form of a musical venue for small artists ( from a personal preference). Not only does small artist present their music to a good number of people, but there is also a

higher chance that the listeners like the artist music. This is due to the possibility the listener visited the bar because of their like of a specific genre, meaning they could like the artist's music as well
